Welcome to CTF Clothing! I thought I would write this blog as a way of introducing ourselves, the brand and what we aim to achieve. Choose The Future can be interpreted in many ways, but the two issues I\u2019d like to talk about are close to my heart and I hope you will find some meaning to what CTF stands for below.<\/p>
Firstly, let\u2019s talk about the environment and the world we live in. This is an issue, which I\u2019m sure many of you are aware of, is talked about amongst ourselves, main stream media, governments and almost everyone we know! I\u2019m sure we all know someone who think it\u2019s a hoax and fine, that\u2019s their opinion. It is not my opinion, though. As I get older this is an issue which is starting to impact me more and more. Not just for myself, but for my family and my children. Let\u2019s face it, I\u2019ll probably be long gone by the time really serious ecological problems start happening but my children, their children and their grandchildren won\u2019t be and they\u2019ll live in a world destroyed if we don\u2019t do something to change it now. The question is what can we do? Now I think there is huge pressure on us as individuals to make quite radical changes, but this is hard for a lot of us who don\u2019t have the money or the resources available to make it possible. When it comes to the environment though, we can all make changes, whether big or small, to start choosing a future which will be better for us all. There is a lot riding on governments and bigger corporations to make changes and I do hope they do something soon and quickly but in the meantime, do what you can to make a positive impact on the environment. This is why I have used TeeMill to produce the clothes I have designed. They use organic cotton, low waste ink, plastic free packaging and all done in a renewable energy powered factory! Let\u2019s start caring about the environment a bit more and make the change needed to ensure there is a future for us and many more generations to come.<\/p>
Secondly, this is where it starts getting a little more personal for me and writing this is already starting to stir some old emotions\u2026 but I shall continue. There was a time in my life (which I may or may not elaborate on another time) where I was a mess. I was depressed, I was sad all the time, I felt like giving up and even felt suicidal and wanted to end it all. In fact, suicide was something I almost attempted! Being stood at the edge of a cliff face was probably one of the worse places I\u2019ve been emotionally. It was tough, it was hard and I felt like I had no future for myself. After a call with the Samaritans I eventually went home and went to bed and just lied there. I couldn\u2019t cry anymore, I was that emotionally drained, so I just lied there staring into space\u2026 it took a while and with help from my family, friends and some other organisations I eventually started to feel more positive and that a future was possible after all. I ended up going back to uni, completely changing my career, took control of my life and started looking after my mental health a lot more. Those that know me may have never realised what I was going through at that time, but it was a dark time and don\u2019t get me wrong, I still have problems and old thoughts do stir occasionally, but I feel like I\u2019m moving forward from a particularly difficult part of my life. I was able to see more clearly and start to Choose The Future I wanted for myself. Fast forward a few years and I have children, a loving family, great friends and even a dog! I\u2019m still going through this journey and I don\u2019t think it will ever end but if I can come out of from a dark place, I believe you can too. No matter the issue, big or small, it\u2019s an issue to you and that makes it important. I still need to look after my mental health and I volunteer at a mental health support group to try and help others. But as before, if I can do it, so can you and I believe you can Choose The Future you deserve. On that note, if anyone has these feelings I would strongly encourage you to reach out to your family, friends, GP, support groups and I\u2019ll even have my DM\u2019s available for you to message. But let\u2019s Choose The Future together and I promise, it will get better.\u00a0<\/p>
Whatever Choose The Future means to you, I do hope this post at least helps you understand what it means to me. This isn\u2019t just a clothing brand, but a community in which we share and care.\u00a0<\/p>
